Every day, members of the Viega Technical Services department are quoting and designing jobs. Now, they have found a way to decrease their turnaround times and provide Viega customers with more detailed drawings. By 4Q 2009, Viega will switch to a brand new design software developed by Mc4.

Mc4 is the most advanced HVAC design software on the market. The fully integrated program makes radiant and snow melt drawings easy. It can easily calculate heat loss and radiant cooling designs, and also has AutoCAD OEM capability.

“This is an exciting time for the Viega Design Services team,” said Mark Parent, Viega Director of Technical Services. “With Mc4 software we are going to increase our efficiencies, make better use of our time, provide enhanced visuals and above all, improve our design services to provide best-in-class support to our customers,” added Parent.

Reduced turnaround times
 

“Every company uses some sort of internal design tool to quote and design jobs. Our previous design tool required us to replicate AutoCAD drawings by hand,” said Parent. With the new Mc4 software, calculations and drawings are entered as one. The software integrates all calculations, draws the circuits and figures spacing on its own. Viega designs will not only be drawn faster but they will be more accurate. Parent expects his Design Services team will see a 33% increase in their productivity over the course of 2010.
