MANABLOC Water Distribution System

The MANABLOC is a unique plumbing water distribution system that can provide homeowners with dramatic water and energy savings. Viega’s patented MANABLOC manifold distribution system delivers hot water to your fixtures up to four times faster than conventional plumbing systems.

Each fixture in a house (e.g. shower, kitchen sink, toilet, etc.) is fed by its own flexible water distribution line, made of ViegaPEX tubing, that runs directly from a central manifold system, called the Viega MANABLOC.

By providing a separate distribution line to each fixture (blue indicates cold water and red indicates hot water), the line can be adequately sized for the actual amount of water needed. For example, the tub and shower units may need more water than low-flow fixtures such as toilets or sinks, so larger lines can be run from the MANABLOC to those types of fixtures. This results in faster hot water delivery and reduced water waste.

The Viega MANABLOC recently received a face-lift. Now there is a full-length faceplate for a sleeker, more professional appearance. Also, the new design includes some slightly different installation considerations.

By moving the divider plate inside the manifold chambers, the MANABLOC no longer has an uneven space between the top and bottom of the divider, thus making the port spacing uniform from
top to bottom.

MANABLOC installations are now easier because there is no need to account for the difference in port spacing, so holes can easily be marked and drilled. This gives the installer more versatility in the installation method.

Combined with ViegaPEX tubing, the MANABLOC offers additional benefits to both the plumber who is installing the system and the homeowner who uses it. Additional benefits include:

• Individual shut-off valves. If one fixture needs to be worked on, it is not necessary to completely turn off water to the entire house or building.
   
• Balanced water pressure. Individual hot or cold PEX lines running to each fixture ensures faster hot water delivery and balanced water pressure with reduction in hot and cold water surges.

The MANABLOC is designed to incorporate PEX Press, Crimp or compression connections for both supply and distribution lines. Plumbers may choose their preferred connection method.
